# Data Quality (/docs/data-quality)



To make sure that all emission calculations and regulation values are correct, Emission+ tries to automatically check your report data for data quality issues.

The system can be configured to notify the crew on board about severe quality issues via email.

## Completeness [#completeness]

When operators enter data in SDBNet, they may generate incomplete reports that end up in Emission+.
These reports often contain invalid values, which can skew downstream calculations — so we flag them.

## Recent ROB Sounding [#recent-rob-sounding]

Most regulations are dealing with net consumption values.
To make sure that gross and net consumption aren't diverging, vessel operators have to regularly perform measurements of fuels **remaining on board**.

Sounding should be performed **at least** once a month, and preferably way more frequently.
Our system will flag any report that is not covered by a sufficiently close *future* sounding report.
